Letter: Time for Trahan and McGovern to go

Time for Trahan and McGovern to go

Just like a finely tuned watch or the swallows returning on schedule to Capistrano, the political goody bags are being hand-carried to the region by U.S. Reps. Lori Trahan and Jim McGovern. They are perfectly timed for the 2022 elections just as their opposition candidates begin their campaigns.

In above-the-fold Sentinel & Enterprise coverage, Trahan was front and center, presenting a federal check for $3 million to Fitchburg State University for the Main Street Theater Block. One week later,  McGovern, again in an above-the-fold article, presented a check for $11 million to the Leominster Schools. Always amazing that these big checks are delivered right on cue, timed precisely before election time to remind the voters how good they are at bringing in money to the districts so they can keep their jobs in November.

The problem seems to be that these checks, although seemingly good and seemingly benevolent by the congresswoman and congressman who deliver the gold, the reality and outcome on the ground always remains the same — no change — ergo — failure.  Delivering money is the Democrats ace card — throw taxpayers precious dollars at the problems hoping that the masses feel good.

However, like the shiny object, money pulls the focus of the voting masses away from the reality of the failing economy, dismal foreign policy and relations with our allies, increased crime, violence in our cities and towns, increase in human and family suffering due to toxic substance abuse that is destroying a generation, apathetic immigration policy, families devastated by increased inflation where the dollar just doesn’t stretch to cover the groceries, gas, utilities and rent.

We need a reset. America needs a reset. Trahan of the 3rd Congressional District and McGovern of the 2nd Congressional District are mere puppets for the Biden and Pelosi progressive agenda to move the U.S. into an increasingly progressive nation. What does this mean? It means that they will take care of themselves first, their progressive agenda second and we the people last.

Don’t be fooled again, these are failed politicians who are mere mouthpieces for the left; Trahan and McGovern have no ideas or thoughts of their own — they only push the agenda and policies of the failing Biden administration.

Change can happen and begin in Central MA — remember that voters will have a choice in November. Vote Dean Tran for U.S. 3rd Congressional District and Jeffrey Sossa-Paquette for the 2nd U.S. Congressional District. Change won’t happen unless each and every one of us stops being fooled.
